In 2023, the precipitated silica industry demonstrated robust growth, with companies reporting stronger profitability than in the previous year. By the end of the year, China hosted 53 domestic manufacturers producing precipitated silica via the precipitation process, with a combined production capacity of 2.891 million tons-a year-on-year increase of 4.37%.
Actual output for the year totaled 1.955 million tons, up 11.58% compared to 2022. Among these producers, 19 enterprises each had an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons or more. Together, these larger operators accounted for a total capacity of 2.242 million tons, a 7.17% increase from 2022, while their actual output reached 1.6512 million tons, reflecting a 14.68% year-on-year rise.
