India Initiates Anti-Dumping Sunset Review on Untreated Fumed Silica from China
India's Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has initiated a first sunset review of anti-dumping duties on untreated fumed silica originating in or imported from China. The original duties, imposed in November 2021, range from USD 0 to USD 1,296 per tonne for Chinese producers and are set to expire in November 2026. In a related anti-absorption investigation concluded in 2025, the duty on Shandong Dongyue Silicone Material was increased from USD 1,018 to USD 1,296 per tonne. Stakeholders must submit information within 37 days of the initiation notice .
Fumed silica exporters targeting the Indian market face continued trade friction. This reinforces the importance of diversifying export destinations and monitoring anti-dumping developments closely.
